Live 3D satellite · instant estimate

Is solar worth it on your roof? Find out in 10 seconds.

Drop a pin on your roof from a 3D satellite view. We model orientation, pitch, shading and panel layout against UK irradiance data, then give you a live £/yr saving, install cost, and payback period. No form-filling — just your postcode.

How this works

Satellite geometry, UK irradiance, and 20 years of our install data.

We combine Google’s Solar API roof geometry (when coverage is available) with the UK’s actual irradiance profile — then calibrate against the 4,200+ installs OMEGA has delivered across Essex, Suffolk and Kent. Your estimate is a realistic mid-case, not a best- case marketing number.

  • 01

    Pin your roof

Zoom the 3D satellite view until you can see the roof tiles. Drag the marker where you want the array.

  • 02

    Live geometry + irradiance

We pull roof pitch, azimuth and available area, then score it against UK irradiance curves for your latitude.

  • 03

    Instant feasibility

Panel count, installed kWp, annual kWh, payback, 25-year lifetime value — refreshed every time you move the pin.

What the numbers really mean

The year-one saving is modelled at a blended UK retail unit cost of £0.28/kWh for imported electricity and a best-in-class SEG export tariff of £0.15/kWh. We assume 35% self-consumption by default and scale with bill size when you tell us more about the household.

Where Google Solar API covers your roof, the panel layout, area, pitch and azimuth come straight from satellite-derived geometry. Where coverage isn’t available (still patchy across rural UK), we model a 60 m² south-facing 35° roof — the median semi-detached you’ll see in our service area — and flag the estimate as heuristic.

Install cost is indicative at £1,400/kWp excluding VAT (0% under the current zero-rated scheme). For an exact quote, a surveyor measures the roof, shading and the consumer unit — and books the grid application for you.

Confidence you can act on

Every number on this page is repeatable.

Move the pin to a different roof, get a different number — reliably. We publish our model so there’s no sleight of hand between the feasibility page and the surveyor’s written quote.
