Energy-efficiency in Scotland.
Scotland's housing stock skews older than the UK average — pre-1919 stone tenement and stone cottage construction is everywhere from the Edinburgh New Town to the Highlands. That changes the retrofit calculus: cavity wall insulation is rarely an option, but external and internal wall insulation are the highest-impact moves on the same homes. Off-gas density across rural Scotland is among the highest in the UK, which is why heat pumps under the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant pay back faster here than almost anywhere else. OMEGA install crews work directly across Scotland — the surveyor at your kitchen table is on our payroll, not someone else's.

Funding routes in Scotland
Three live grant routes — we check every one on the survey.
Scotland runs its own devolved energy-efficiency scheme alongside the UK-wide grants. Most homeowners qualify for at least one — and don't know it. We check eligibility on the free survey, file the paperwork in our name, and tell you in writing which routes apply and how much they could be worth.
Home Energy Scotland Grant + Loan
Scotland's devolved energy-efficiency grant. Up to £7,500 toward a heat pump on the grant route plus an interest-free loan for the balance. We check eligibility on the survey and file the paperwork on your behalf. Subject to eligibility. Administered by Energy Saving Trust on behalf of the Scottish administration.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme
The UK-wide BUS grant runs in Scotland too — up to £7,500 off an air-source heat pump and £7,500 off a ground-source unit on most installs. Stacks with Home Energy Scotland in some cases. We confirm what applies to your home in writing.
ECO4
Both schemes operate across Scotland on the same eligibility rules as the rest of the UK. ECO4 typically covers loft, cavity, and solid-wall insulation for households on qualifying benefits or in EPC band D-G with lower household income.
Where we are in Scotland
Honest about the lead time.
We're not yet as dense in Scotland as in some other parts of the UK. Free survey from any IV, AB, DD, KY, FK, EH, G, ML, KA, PA or DG postcode usually 2–3 days, never more than a week; install scheduled within four weeks of plan sign-off. Same five guarantees, same 25-year cover, same OMEGA-payroll engineer on the phone in year four.
