Solar panels, sized for your bills — not your roof
Most installers spec the system to fill the available roof. We spec it to match what you actually use at home during daylight, and the export tariff you switch to on commissioning day matters more than the brand of panel. Survey first, panels second.

About this service
Solar PV, designed properly.
If you've watched your electricity bill climb every winter and started wondering whether solar actually pays back any more, the honest answer is: on the right roof, with the right design, it pays back faster than it has in years. Most south-facing UK homes save £850–£1,150 a year before any export payments. The Smart Export Guarantee adds another £150–£250 on top. We're MCS-certified, which means every install qualifies for SEG and any grant that touches solar; before we quote, our surveyors model your last 12 months of usage against your roof's pitch, orientation and shading so the savings figure on your proposal is yours, not a brochure average. No oversizing, no upselling, and the SEG application is handled by us end-to-end.
What you get
- Typical 4kW system saves £1,100+ a year at current unit rates
- Smart Export Guarantee pays you for every kWh you export
- 25-year panel performance warranty, 12-year product warranty
- Battery-ready: add storage now or later without rewiring
- MCS-certified install — required for all incentive schemes

How it works
How it works, step by step.
01
Generation + savings modelling
We pull your last 12 months of electricity usage and model the system using MCS-approved irradiance data for your postcode.
02
Fixed-price design
Panel layout, inverter, optimisers (if shading), battery option — all priced in one quote with a 90-day price lock.
03
1–2 day install (lead MCS engineer named on day one)
OMEGA's own MCS engineers — never subcontracted, lead engineer is your single point of contact across survey, install, and the year-one health check. Scaffold up the day before. Day one: panels mounted on rails, electrical first-fix to inverter location. Day two: inverter, isolators, DC + AC commissioning, MCS certificate raised, monitoring app paired with your phone before we leave. NAPIT-registered electricians on every install. DNO G99 or G98 notification filed same-day.
04
Handover + app setup
SolarEdge or GivEnergy app set up on your phone before we leave. MCS certificate and Smart Export Guarantee application handled by us.
Accreditations that matter
Not logos. The certifications that matter for Solar PV.
Every one of these is checkable online. Every one changes something concrete about the job — the survey, the materials, the guarantees, the way the grants land.
MCS
Microgeneration Certification — solar, heat pumps, batteries
Without MCS you can't claim the Smart Export Guarantee, the BUS grant, or 0% VAT. We're fully certified.
NAPIT
Competent-person scheme for electrical work
Your consumer-unit work, EV charger, solar DC and battery wiring all get notified to Building Control by us — you don't pay Part P separately.
RECC
Renewable Energy Consumer Code
You get a 14-day cooling-off, a deposit protection scheme, and an independent dispute route. We'd rather never need it, but it's there.
TrustMark
The only endorsement scheme backed by the UK consumer body
Every install is lodged on the TrustMark register so your cover travels with the property.

Generate + retain
Solar generates the power. Multifoil makes sure your home actually uses it.
Every kWh you generate from solar is worth more in a well-insulated home — because demand is lower, your generation covers a higher share of your annual use, and the export-back-to-grid figure drops in favour of self-consumption (which is worth more per kWh than the SEG export rate).

Why pairing wins
- Multifoil lowers your annual demand — same solar array now covers a bigger share of your bill.
- Self-consumption beats SEG export every time — saves you 27p/kWh instead of 15p/kWh on every kWh you generate AND use yourself.
- A wrapped + powered home is the OMEGA flagship combination. We design the system around your real usage, not a brochure number.
The OMEGA Solar Generation Promise
We promise your year-one generation in writing — and refund the gap if we miss.
Every quote includes our predicted year-one generation in kWh, calculated from your roof's real solar profile (not a regional average). After 12 months we read your meter. If we missed by more than 10%, we refund the value of the missing kWh at the price you'd have paid for grid electricity that year.
If we miss
Refund equals (predicted kWh − actual kWh − 10% tolerance) × your import tariff at the time of the year-one read. Paid by bank transfer within 14 days of meter read.
Honest about who this isn't for
This isn't right for shaded north-facing roofs (we'll quote you out of the install rather than mis-sell) or for properties with planning constraints we can't resolve.
The measurable promise
±10%
Year-one kWh accuracy band
Independently measured before and after install. Written into your quote. Refundable if missed.

Grants and funding
The grants you can get.
Eligibility changes often, the schemes don’t reward homeowners who fill the forms in themselves, and the paperwork is genuinely tedious. So we file it for you.
We handle the paperwork end-to-end
- ECO4 + GBIS — insulation, paid direct to us
- BUS — up to £7,500 off heat pumps
- SEG — export tariff registration
- OZEV / EVHS — EV charger grants
You sign once. We submit, evidence, and chase. The grant comes off your final invoice — nothing for you to claim back.
Smart Export Guarantee — paid per kWh exported
ECO4 funding — full or partial cover for eligible homes
0% VAT on new solar installs (to March 2027)
Common questions
Common questions, answered honestly.
How long does a solar install take?
Most domestic solar installs take 1–2 days on site, with scaffold going up the day before so we can start at first light. Day 1 covers the rails, panels, inverter and DC isolators; day 2 is the AC side, DNO notification, and the SolarEdge or GivEnergy app on your phone. A battery add-on adds another half-day; your surveyor confirms the exact slot once any DNO pre-approval has cleared.
What happens on a cloudy day?
Modern panels still generate around 10–25% of their rated output under heavy cloud — your roof keeps producing through every grey morning, just at a reduced rate. Annualised UK-specific irradiance data already builds British weather into every savings figure we quote, so the £-per-year number on your proposal is realistic, not a sunshine-best-case. We'll show you the modelled month-by-month generation curve for your specific roof on the survey.
Do I need planning permission?
Roof-mounted solar is permitted development for the vast majority of homes in our service area. Listed buildings and conservation areas need planning consent — we handle the application as part of our service.
Should I add a battery?
A battery adds 15–25% to your annual solar savings by storing daytime generation for evening peak use, plus another £200–£400 if you can pair it with a time-of-use tariff like Octopus Go. Payback on the battery alone runs 8–10 years, but it tightens to 5–7 years if you also run an EV or heat pump on the cheap-rate window. We size the inverter now to make adding a 5 kWh stack later a plug-and-play upgrade — never a re-wire job.
