Why OMEGA

Plenty of companies install insulation. Here’s what makes us different.

Not a promise. A list of things you can check. Side by side, in plain English, here’s how we differ from a typical UK installer.

The plan is yours to keep. Take it to two other installers if you like.

Side by side

The way it should be done. And the way it usually is.

Six questions to ask any UK installer before you sign. The first column is OMEGA. The second is what you’ll most likely hear in another living room.

  • The survey

Ask any installer: “How long will you spend in my home before you quote?”

    OMEGA

We turn up with a thermal camera. 45 minutes, every room, a written plan you keep whether you use us or not.

    What you’ll hear elsewhere

A rep with a tablet and a quote to close before they leave your doorstep.

  • Work we turn down

Ask any installer: “Have you ever told a homeowner not to install?”

    OMEGA

In 2025 we walked away from about £1.4 million of installs because the savings wouldn’t justify the spend. The homes still got the plan. We just didn’t bid for the work.

    What you’ll hear elsewhere

Every lead is a sale. If you’re asking, you’re buying.

  • The receipt

    £1.4M

of installs we walked away from in 2025.

Either the home didn’t need the work, or the numbers didn’t stack up. The homeowner kept the written plan either way.

  • Accreditations

Ask any installer: “May I have your current MCS and TrustMark numbers?”

    OMEGA

MCS, TrustMark, PAS 2030/2035. The certifications grant funding actually requires. Without them, your installer can’t apply on your behalf.

    MCSTrustMarkPAS 2030/35

    What you’ll hear elsewhere

May or may not hold the accreditations. You’d need to check yourself.

  • The guarantee

Ask any installer: “Is your workmanship warranty insurer-backed?”

    OMEGA

25-year product. 5-year workmanship. Both insurer-backed by a third party. If OMEGA closed, your cover still pays out.

    25 / 5 yr insurer-backed

    What you’ll hear elsewhere

Manufacturer warranty only. The installer’s promise ends when the van drives away.

  • Mortgage Market · OMG-014

    BBC News

A quarter of the UK's biggest mortgage providers, and all of the equity release lenders it surveyed, would not lend against homes with spray foam insulation in the roof.

  • Who does the work

Ask any installer: “Will the people on my roof be employed by you?”

    OMEGA

Employed OMEGA crews. The surveyor who walks your home briefs the team who does the install. One company, start to finish.

    What you’ll hear elsewhere

Subcontracted day-rate crews. Different faces at every stage.

  • Grants and funding

Ask any installer: “Will you complete the grant paperwork for me?”

    OMEGA

We check eligibility on the survey, complete the application, liaise with the scheme. You sign where we point.

    What you’ll hear elsewhere

You’re told to “apply yourself” or referred to a third party.

The written plan is yours, whether you book the work or not.

Who you call afterwards

Where we work

The independent verdict

What the publications say about the work we do — and the work we don't.

Every quote below is a verbatim line from a named source. Click Verify on any one to read the full surrounding paragraph and go straight to the original article. We are the only UK home-energy installer that puts the primary source alongside every public claim. The line should be the same line in the original, every time. If it ever isn't, tell us and we'll fix it the same day.

From the founder

I spent years in the energy industry watching homeowners get sold the wrong thing. Cavity wall companies pushing cavity fill on homes that didn’t need it. Solar firms ignoring the insulation that should’ve come first. OMEGA exists to do it properly. Survey first. Plan second. Install third. And if the numbers don’t work for your home, we say so — even when it means walking away from the job.
