About this service

Maintenance, designed properly.

There is a moment most retrofits never quite get past. The install lands. The numbers in the year-one report are excellent. The homeowner is happy. And then year two arrives, the panels are quietly down 12% on generation because lichen has spread across the bottom row, the heat-pump filter has not been changed since commissioning, the multifoil vapour seal has lifted at one rafter edge nobody has thought to check, the cladding silicone has crazed on the west elevation, the gutter is full of leaf-fall and overflowing down the render again — and the £412 a year saving has quietly become £210, and nobody noticed until the bill arrived in November. Maintenance is the part of the job that decides whether the retrofit you paid for in 2026 is still working properly in 2036. We built the OMEGA maintenance crews precisely so that none of the above ever happens — or so that when it does, you do not have to think about it. The plan is single-line: every system we installed, looked after on one rolling subscription, priced as a small monthly figure rather than a long list of standalone callout fees. The cadence is the same regardless of which combination of upgrades you have. Once a year, in the slot we book on commissioning, the relevant crew arrives — solar engineer with deionised-water pole, gas-safe heat-pump technician with the F-gas kit, NICEIC electrician with the EICR clamp meter, ProPERLA-trained applicator with the silicone gun — and they do the year of care your kit needs to keep performing at the number you signed up to. Twenty-four-hour priority callout is included; you do not pay a callout fee on top. The cost runs anywhere from £6.95 a month for a single insulation install up to £49.95 a month for the full house — solar plus battery plus heat pump plus EV plus cleaning. Most homeowners with three or more OMEGA systems land at around £24 a month, which is what an annual service on a gas boiler costs as a one-off. Bird protection, panel cleans, gutter clears, joint reseals, controller updates, tariff reviews — all of it included or available as a transparent add-on. You cancel after year one if it has not earned its keep. Most do not.

What you get

  • Every OMEGA system on one rolling plan — solar, battery, heat pump, EV, insulation, cladding, ProPERLA
  • Annual cleans for panels, gutters, roofs — deionised water, no detergents, no roof-walks
  • Bird and pest protection — stainless mesh skirts, vent caps, eaves seals — fitted by the same crew
  • Annual service that keeps your manufacturer warranties valid — heat-pump F-gas, EV EICR, battery firmware
  • Annual tariff review on energy products — Octopus, EDF, OVO routes audited against your real usage
  • 24-hour priority callout included — no callout fee, no surprise invoice
  • Discount on every add-on when you take the plan — typically 15–20% off one-off pricing
  • Cancel any time after year one — no exit fee, no minimum term beyond the first twelve months

How it works

How it works, step by step.

  1. 01

    Free 30-minute audit

A maintenance coordinator runs through every OMEGA system on your property and any non-OMEGA system worth folding in (existing solar, gas boiler, gutters, exterior). We agree the bundle, the annual cadence, the seasonal slot, and the price — all in writing, all transparent. No callout fee for the audit; we come out free because we want to set the plan up right.

  2. 02

Single quote, single price, single subscription

One number a month, every system covered. Itemised on the quote so you can see exactly what each system is contributing. You can drop a system off the plan if you sell that part of the kit. Direct debit from month thirteen of any new install; standalone month one for existing systems.

  3. 03

Annual visit — one slot, one crew, every system

Booked into the slot we agreed on day one — typically the same week each year. The right specialist arrives for the right system. Solar engineer with the deionised pole. Heat-pump technician with the F-gas kit and the weather-comp laptop. ProPERLA crew with the sealant gun. NICEIC electrician with the clamp meter. They work through the bundle, photograph every stage, and leave the property with a written report attached to your email by end of day.

  4. 04

    Priority callout, all year

Twenty-four-hour response on any fault flagged through the OMEGA portal or by phone. No callout fee. If the fault is a workmanship issue we covered on the original install, the fix is included in your existing guarantee. If it is wear, weather or third-party damage, the labour is included on the plan and you pay only for parts at trade.

  5. 05

Annual tariff and performance review (where applicable)

On energy-product plans (solar, battery, heat pump, EV) we run an annual tariff audit against your real usage from the last twelve months. Octopus Cosy versus Go versus Intelligent. EDF Heat Pump versus a flat tariff. SEG export rates compared. If switching saves you more than £200 a year we file the paperwork on your behalf — your saving runs straight off your subscription cost or back to you in cash, your choice.

Where the plan earns its keep fastest

Solar without maintenance loses ~15% of generation in 24 months. Maintenance on solar lands the saving back.

Soiling, bird damage, drifting inverter telemetry, expiring DC isolator certs — every one of those quietly costs you generation a homeowner without a plan never sees on the bill. The OMEGA Maintenance plan paired with a solar install gives you the highest-return upgrade we sell to existing customers.

Why pairing wins

  • Annual deionised-water clean recovers 15–25% of generation lost to lichen, pollen and bird strike — pure cash back into the bill saving.
  • Bird-mesh skirting included on the plan stops the cable damage that voids most solar manufacturer warranties — and the standalone price for that mesh alone is £349.
  • Annual tariff review on the plan typically lifts SEG income by £80–£180 a year — paid straight back to you, no admin on your side.

The OMEGA Care Promise

Year-one performance held at year ten — measured each annual visit, refundable if it drifts.

Every annual visit re-measures the system against the year-one baseline — solar generation, heat-pump COP, battery autonomy, U-value, ventilation rate. We promise to keep year-on-year drift under ten per cent across the kit we maintain, or we remediate at our cost on the next visit.

If we miss

If drift exceeds ten per cent on any covered system and we cannot bring it back inside the band, the affected plan line for that twelve-month period is refunded. No callout fees count against you.

Honest about who this isn't for

This isn't right for households who only want a one-off clean — book that on the cleaning service page instead. The plan exists for homes with two or more OMEGA systems where the maths of bundling actually pays.

Grants and funding

The grants you can get.

Eligibility changes often, the schemes don’t reward homeowners who fill the forms in themselves, and the paperwork is genuinely tedious. So we file it for you.

We handle the paperwork end-to-end

  • ECO4 + GBIS — insulation, paid direct to us
  • BUS — up to £7,500 off heat pumps
  • SEG — export tariff registration
  • OZEV / EVHS — EV charger grants

You sign once. We submit, evidence, and chase. The grant comes off your final invoice — nothing for you to claim back.

  • No direct grant — the plan typically pays for itself on the bird protection alone within eighteen months on solar arrays

Common questions

Common questions, answered honestly.

  • What is actually included on the £6.95 plan versus the £49.95 plan?

The £6.95 figure is the single-system floor — insulation only, for example — and covers the annual loft inspection, the humidity reading, the eaves vent check and the priority callout. Add a second system (say, cladding) and the figure typically rises to £18–£20 a month. Add solar plus a battery and you are at around £30. The full-house plan at £49.95 covers solar, battery, heat pump, EV, cladding or ProPERLA, plus the annual gutter and roof cleans. Every line is itemised on your quote — you can see exactly what each system is contributing, and you can drop a system from the plan whenever it suits.

  • How does this differ from the manufacturer aftercare on my heat pump or battery?

Manufacturer aftercare typically covers the box — parts and labour on the equipment for the warranted period. It does not cover anything around the box. The plan covers the workmanship that sits between the box and your home: pipework, controls, commissioning settings, F-gas certification, weather-comp tuning, EICR top-ups, firmware audits, tariff reviews. On heat pumps specifically, every major warranty (Mitsubishi, Vaillant, Daikin) requires evidence of an annual service to remain valid — skip a year and your warranty conversation becomes considerably harder. The plan keeps the service log current, lodged with the manufacturer, and proves up if and when you ever need to claim.

  • Do you cover non-OMEGA systems?

Often yes. If you have existing solar fitted by someone else, or a heat pump installed before we met you, or a gas boiler we did not put in — we can add them to the plan after a one-off baseline inspection (priced separately). We will not adopt anything that fails the baseline inspection without a remediation plan being agreed first; that is how we keep our guarantees clean. The most common case is solar arrays installed by firms that have since gone out of business — we adopt those onto the plan regularly and they are some of our happiest customers.

  • What if I sell the house?

The plan transfers to the new owner free of charge, which lifts asking-price valuations measurably on three-bed semis with full retrofit kit. We have written confirmation from a panel of three East-of-England estate agents that a transferable OMEGA care plan is one of the top three line items they cite when they push a valuation up. If the new owner does not want it they can cancel within thirty days of completion with no exit fee. You owe nothing on transfer.

  • What is the bird and pest protection element?

Pigeons nesting under solar arrays are the single most common cause of warranty-voiding cable damage we see in the trade — the birds tear DC cabling and most manufacturer warranties name pest damage as a named exclusion. Stainless steel mesh skirting around the panel perimeter, fitted by the same crew on the annual visit, stops the access route entirely. We also fit vent caps to stop birds nesting in soffit eaves, rodent-proof seals where insulation meets brickwork, and clear nests from gutter ends before they cause blockages. All of that is included once you are on the plan; standalone pricing on the same kit runs to £349–£500 in the first instance.

  • How quickly do you respond to a callout?

Priority callout means a same-day response by phone and a next-day visit in the vast majority of cases. The promise we make in writing is twenty-four hours from logged fault to a qualified engineer on site, which we hit on close to 95% of plan callouts. The exceptions are genuinely rare — bank holidays where parts depots are closed, severe weather where the access is unsafe, faults that require a specific manufacturer engineer rather than ours. We tell you on the call which case applies and what the actual timeline looks like.

  • Will the plan really save me money versus paying as I go?

Run the maths on solar alone and the answer is usually yes by a comfortable margin. A standalone deionised panel clean is £79–£180. A standalone performance audit is £109. Bird protection is £349 the first time. An annual fault callout is £150 minimum before parts. A heat-pump service is £140–£200 a visit. Add up the typical year for a household with solar, battery and a heat pump on standalone pricing and you are at £600–£800. The plan covers the same scope for £24–£30 a month. The plan also catches the small problems early — the slowly soiling array, the drifting weather-comp curve, the lifted silicone joint — before they become the £4,000 problems. The financial case is in the prevention as much as in the unit-cost saving.

  • Can I add cleaning without taking the full plan?

Yes. Every cleaning service — solar panel clean, roof clean, gutter clean — is also available as a one-off booking through the dedicated service pages. The plan just bundles them at a discount and adds the priority callout, the annual tariff review and the warranty-cover element. If you only want a one-off panel clean, book it on the solar-cleaning page; if you want the cleans plus everything else, the plan is the cheaper route.
